Climate Action & Greenhouse Gas Emissions
To align our climate efforts with international targets, RELINE has joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and anchored its climate goals to the 1.5°C pathway of the Paris Agreement. Our validated near-term target calls for a 42% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030, against a 2020 baseline.
The SBTi targets of RelineEurope GmbH can be viewed here:

By 2025, RELINE has already achieved a reduction of more than 70% in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions — surpassing our target years ahead of schedule.

Transition Plan Toward Net Zero
RELINE is pursuing a clear, structured path to Net Zero through a comprehensive transition plan. Built on a detailed analysis of our own emissions profile, the plan translates findings into concrete measures, milestones, and governance mechanisms.
Our decarbonization pathway is guided by four core principles:
Avoid Before Reduce Before Compensate
Emissions are addressed first through avoidance, then reduction. Offsetting measures are reserved exclusively for unavoidable residual emissions.
Electrification & Energy Efficiency
The phase-out of fossil fuels is driven primarily through electrification and the adoption of more efficient technologies.
Renewable Energy
The share of renewable energy sources in our operations is continuously expanded.
Supply Chain Transformation
Since the majority of our emissions arise in Scope 3, the active engagement of suppliers is a central pillar of our climate strategy.

2025 marks the foundation and planning phase, during which the transition plan and detailed decarbonization roadmap were developed.
From 2026, the first implementation phase begins. Key milestones include:
-
Electrification of 40–50% of the corporate vehicle fleet
-
Launch of a pilot project for a low-carbon product
-
Full capture of relevant product carbon footprint (PCF) data from key suppliers
By 2027, RELINE aims to achieve climate-neutral operations. To reach this goal:
-
70–80% of the vehicle fleet will be emissions-free
-
80% of fossil-fuel heating systems will be replaced
-
100% of electricity consumption will come from renewable sources
-
Remaining residual emissions will be neutralized through certified, permanent carbon removal solutions
With this structured approach, RELINE is building a credible and transparent pathway to climate-neutral operations by 2027 — a decisive step on the road to full decarbonization of the entire value chain by 2050, and an active contribution to global climate action.
